Description

Abstract:

Animals fibers morphology brings us, integrated with other type of evidence, useful information to the reconstruction of the development of hunter-gatherer strategies and the identification of changes in the man- fauna relationship.

We revisiting the relevance and the utility of these studies to the taxonomical identifications and the discrimination of sources of morphological variation as domestication process, animal characteristics, environmental and seasonal factors and fiber selection procedements during the manufacturers production.

We comment the constitution of a new agenda tending to broad the information generated for the enunciated topics and new data obtained from cortical cells studies.

This presentation includes the advance obtained from information proceding from the morphological study of fleeces and manufacturers recovered from different sites located in the septentrional “puna” (Jujuy, Argentina) and meridional “puna” (Catamarca, Argentina) dated from 10000 to 800 AP aproximatly.

From a technical- methodological perspective the data obtained allow us to discuss the procedements, indicators and observations. From a theorical perspective, it discuss in coevolutive terms the explotation and uses of faunal resources and the presence of indicators which evidence an intensification of the man- camelids relationship in the Norwest of Argentina.
