Executive and International Committee Meetings
The ICAZ International Committee (IC) is made up of the members of the Executive Committee and up to 35 individuals elected by the membership. The role of the IC is to ensure that the aims of ICAZ are met at the highest level of international standards. IC meetings are held once every two years, following the cycle of ICAZ General Meetings. During the year of an ICAZ General Meeting, the IC Meeting is held in conjunction with the larger conference. At this time the focus of the meeting is primarily on ICAZ business as specified by the ICAZ Statutes.
IC Meetings held between General Meetings usually consist of a two day meeting in which elected IC members give brief presentations and discuss ICAZ business, particularly that related to the holding of the next International Conference. The organizer determines the theme for the meeting. Organizers are encouraged to choose a topic of general importance to the practice of archaeozoological research, the dissemination of the results of archaeozoological research, and the impact of our field on the scientific community as a whole. A report on each IC meeting is included in the subsequent newsletter that year. Past meeting reports are available for download:
