The start of the new year always brings with it the Archaeological Institute of America & Society for Classical Studies Joint Annual meeting. Our team at the Alexandria Archive Institute / Open Context (AAI/OC) is excited to be leading a workshop at the meeting! We’ve shared the details about our session below. If you’re registered for the meeting, we’d love to see you there. But if you can’t make it, be sure to keep an eye out for our reflections about the event and for information about programs that we have on our docket for the new year!

Let’s Make A Data Story: How To Create A Public-Facing Data-Driven Archaeology Narrative

2022 AIA & SCS Joint Annual Meeting
Session 2F
Thursday | 6 January | 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. PST

Participants in this workshop will explore two themes: data-driven digital storytelling and public scholarship. They will also learn about the benefits of using linked open data, building on ongoing discussions about ethical best data practices and standards. As an interactive event, this workshop will appeal to those interested in cultivating new skills who might be pursuing careers inside or outside of the academy, or to those interested in teaching these kinds of skills to their students.
